Epithelial Sodium Channel (ENaC) Antagonist (see Epithelial Sodium Channel Antagonists, [[Epithelial Sodium Channel Antagonists]]): these agents act to close sodium channels on the luminal membrane of cells in the collecting tubule (collecting tubule is the site of action of aldosterone)
Inhibits sodium reabsorption in the late distal convoluted tubules, connecting tubules, and collecting ducts
Acts as potassium-sparing diuretic
Same mechanism as that of Triamterene (see Triamterene, [[Triamterene]])
