• Crystals Present in Joint Fluid:

  • Gout
  • Pseudogout (associated with 4 “H” diseases: hemochromatosis, hyperparathyroidism, hypomagnesemia, hypophosphatasia)

• Cultures Positive:

  • Septic arthritis

• Cultures Negative (joint, as well as uretheral, rectal, cervical, and pharyngeal cultures, when GC and Chlamydia are suspected):

  • RA/JRA
  • Viral arthritis
  • SLE
  • Lyme
  • Sarcoid
  • Spondyloarthropathy
  • Ankylosing Spondylitis
  • Reactive Arthritis
  • Psoriatic Arthritis
  • IBD-Associated Arthritis
  • TB arthritis
