Etiology

• Pulmonary Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) (see Pulmonary Arteriovenous Malformation, [[Pulmonary Arteriovenous Malformation]])
  • Epidemiology: occurs in <10% of cases in modern studies (older literature cites a higher incidence)
  • Clinical: loudest during inspiration and more likely to be heard with the AVM in a dependent position
