Plasma Cell Granuloma
Epidemiology
- Rare tumor in lung
- Higher incidence in children/ adolescents
Physiology
- Benign lung post-inflammatory pseudotumor
Pathology
- Fibrous tissue/abundant plasma cells/ calcification or ossification (common)/ amyloid degeneration (may occur)
Diagnosis
- FOB: may occur endobronchially
- CXR/Chest CT Pattern: solitary (usually 2-5 cm, but may be large) lung nodule
- May grow slowly but usually stable over time
