Leiomyoma

Epidemiology

  • Uncommon neoplasm
  • Most common in middle-aged adults
  • 50% are endobronchial in location

Physiology

  • Benign lung neoplasm
  • May be endobonchial
  • Some cases may actually represent Benign Metastasizing Leiomyoma

Diagnosis

  • CXR/Chest CT Pattern: sharply-defined, lobulated solitary lung nodule (in 50% of cases)
    • Occasionally, multiple

Clinical

(usually asymptomatic)

  • Cough/expectoration
  • Obstructive symptoms
  • Signs of obstruction
