  • Platinum-Based Agent Which Inhibits DNA Synthesis
    • Formation of DNA Crosslinks: may also form intra-strand crosslinks
    • Denaturation of DNA Double Helix
    • Covalent Binding to DNA Bases: disrupts DNA function
    • Possible Binding to DNA Proteins

  • General Management
    • Elevated Arm
    • Gently Aspirate Extravasated Solution : do not flush the line
  • Sodium Thiosulfate
  • Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO)
